The Silver Monkey moniker served us well for twelve years, and we’ll miss it. It took us from a one-man-band to where we are now, with some great times along the way.
We’ve grown, matured and developed. It felt like the right time to adopt an identity more in keeping with where we are as a creative agency. Something a little more grown up.
We poked a bit of fun at ourselves a few years ago when we created the “agency name generator”. It turns out the animal-and-a-colour combination wasn’t as groovy and original as we thought – there are countless examples out there. You know who you are… x
I’ve never been 100% comfortable with the use of the word monkey and perhaps it was a naive choice. The #blacklivesmatter campaign has a long way to go before it achieves its objectives, but it’s had a far-reaching impact and I don’t want to be associated with a term used as a racial slur. That’s not who we are.
Silver Monkey was intended to be fun and memorable. It served us well and we’ll miss it, but it’s time to move on to bigger, bolder things.
Simple. It’s the time the clock on the outside wall of our design studio has been resolutely displaying for as long as anyone can remember. We figured we’d make the time our own. And we’ve checked – the owners of our business park have no intention of fixing the clock anytime soon.
