Mount Farm Surgery's new website puts patients first with user-friendly design, adherence to standards, and accessibility.
If you've ever struggled to book an appointment or find information on a GP surgery website, you're not alone. Many GP websites are unclear and hard to navigate, causing frustration for patients and unnecessary calls to the surgery. Not so with Mount Farm Surgery in Bury St Edmunds.
Custom website design
Working closely with the team at Mount Farm we developed a custom WordPress website, tailored to ensure information is accessible, user-friendly, clear, and concise.
Complies with NHS Content and Identity standards
Our design team took care to ensure the website adheres to both the surgery’s brand identity (which we created for them in 2015) and NHS Content and Identity standards.
Praise from the National GP Improvement Programme
Mount Farm Surgery’s efforts were recognised by the NHS National General Practice Improvement Programme. The revamped website earned praise for its excellent design and user-friendly interface.
Positive patient feedback
Mount Farm Surgery operates a Patient Participation Group for patients to contribute feedback, from whom they received overwhelmingly positive feedback, emphasising the site’s clarity and ease of use.
Enhanced accessibility and multilingual support
The website was built to meet the latest coding and W3C web accessibility standards, ensuring usability for everyone, including individuals with disabilities. To further enhance inclusivity, we implemented a Site Translation feature, enabling visitors to read the entire site in their preferred language.
We were keen to move away from 'template-based' websites used by many GP surgeries, wanting something unique and easier for patients to navigate, whilst also adhering to NHS England guidance.
